What information this app stores
MomOS stores the following information only on your device using your browser's local storage:
Your name and your co-parent's name β entered during setup, used only to personalise the app display
Your children's names, dates of birth, school and medical information β stored locally for your Child Profiles
Budget and expense information β your income, monthly expenses, and logged expenses
Co-parenting records β handoff logs, communications, custody calendar entries, and daily logs
Transition planner progress β which checklist items you have completed

Where your data lives β this is important
All data is stored locally on your device only. In the current version of MomOS (v1.0), your information is never sent to any server, cloud service, or third party. It does not leave your phone or computer.
This means:
β We cannot see your data
β We do not sell your data
β We do not share your data with anyone
β No account or email address is required to use the app
β If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, your data will be deleted. Use Download Records regularly to back up your information.

How your information is used
Your information is used exclusively to power the features you use within the app:
To display your family feed, budget, and dashboard
To generate your downloadable CSV reports
To personalise the app with your name and children's names
To auto-generate the daily report card and share text
We do not use your information for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than making the app work for you.

Children's information
MomOS allows you to store information about your minor children including their names, dates of birth, school, medical conditions, and allergies. This information is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted externally.
We comply with applicable children's privacy laws including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). The app is intended for use by parents and guardians only, not by children directly.

Sensitive and safety-related information
We understand that many users of MomOS may be in sensitive or vulnerable situations, including those leaving abusive relationships. This context shapes every decision we make about data.
We strongly recommend:
Use a device that your co-parent or abuser does not have access to
Set a PIN or Face ID lock on your device
Regularly download your records and store them in a secure location (cloud storage with a private account)
If you need to leave quickly, use the Download Records feature to export everything before you go

Third-party services
MomOS v1.0 uses the following third-party services in a limited capacity:
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) β used to load the app's fonts (DM Sans and Playfair Display). Google may log font requests. No personal data from MomOS is shared with Google through this service. Google Privacy Policy
No analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services are used in MomOS v1.0.

Your rights and control over your data
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
Access: All your data is visible within the app at any time
Export: Download your data using the Download Records feature
Delete: Clear your browser/app data at any time to permanently remove all MomOS data from your device
Correction: Edit any entry directly within the app

Legal compliance (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA)
GDPR (European users): No personal data is transmitted from your device, so standard GDPR data processing obligations do not apply to MomOS v1.0. If future versions add cloud sync, this policy will be updated and you will be notified before any data is transmitted.
CCPA (California residents): MomOS does not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect β which is none, as all data stays on your device.
COPPA: MomOS is not directed at children under 13. All users must be adults (18+). Information about children is entered by parents/guardians and stored only on their device.

Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy β particularly if future versions introduce cloud sync or data transmission β we will notify you prominently within the app before the change takes effect. You will always have the option to export and delete your data before any such change applies to you.
The current version of this policy applies to MomOS v1.0 (local storage only, no backend).
